Cyanotypes Along the Tracks 1908-1910

A presentation of 30 Cyanotype images by Frank Bird Masters (1873-1955) an illustrator. Masters is previously unknown as a photographer and original research by Andrew Daneman brings this body of work into the open for the first time. Masters was an accomplished illustrator with numerous magazine covers, posters and book illustrations to his name.
The Cyanotypes, done as studies for illustrations, exhibit his talent for composition and eye for unusual visual elements. The 30 images reproduced in this catalogue of over 200, are actual size (5 X 4" or 4 X 5") in color.
Later work has shown the dates to be in the range 1903- 1911. Information about Masters is available as a download.
